Traffic Alert: Delays on A49 Shropshire after diesel spillage

The A49 is currently closed in both directions from its junctions of the B4370 (Marshbrook) to the A5 (Shrewsbury) due to a crash and a diesel spillage.

Diversion route details:

Road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the hollow black triangle diversion symbols on road signs. At the junction of the A49/B4371 in Church Stretton, take the B4371 eastbound. Continue along the B4371 towards Much Wenlock. At the junction of the B4371/A458 take the A458 northbound towards Shrewsbury. Continue along the A458 northbound to its junction with the A5.

Road users travelling southbound are advised to follow the hollow black circle diversion symbol on road signs. At the junction of the A5/A49 take the exit to the A5 eastbound. Exit the A5 at its junction with the A458 and take the A458 southbound towards Much Wenlock. Continue southbound on the A458 to its junction with B4368 at Morville. Take the B4368 westbound and re-join the A49 at Craven Arms.
