People: RSM welcomes director from EY; Senior hire for transport comms agency

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has welcomed James Roberts as a director in its accounting and business advisory team in Birmingham.

He joins RSM from EY, bringing with him significant financial reporting and risk assurance experience in the financial services sector.

He has specialised in advising financial services firms on the commercial and regulatory impact of the accounting and financial reporting challenges they face. He has worked with a wide range of UK and international clients, delivering projects such as corporate reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, and the implementation of new accounting standards.

In his new role based in the Midlands, Roberts will focus on broadening RSM’s financial services offering nationally, drawing on the firm’s expertise and talent from across the UK and internationally.

He brings with him extensive technical and pragmatic experience in advising financial services businesses. Specialist transport, technology and environmental communications consultancy Prova PR has expanded its team with the appointment of Laura Priestley as B2B account director.

With more than 12 years’ experience, Priestley began her career with TRW Automotive and has subsequently worked both in-house and agency-side providing PR consultancy to clients including 3M, Wolseley, Metsec, UK Power Reserve, UKLPG and a broad range of energy and engineering clients.

The former head of B2B PR at Superdream will be utilising her energy and technology experience to deliver diverse and engaging content to a range of stakeholders and media outlets.
