Walsall’s tallest tower opens after redevelopment

The redevelopment of Walsall’s tallest building has been completed.

Developers Tameway (Midlands) spent more than 12 months regenerating the 14-storey Tameway Tower in Bridge Street, which was originally built as office accommodation in the 1970s.

The building has been transformed into 145 apartments with part of the ground floor occupied by offices.

The tower has been renamed Tameway Plaza.

Arran Bailey, managing director of Tameway (Midlands), said: “The tower has needed a revamp for some time and we are absolutely delighted with the result. The transformation is incredible.

“The change from a dated office block into a contemporary apartment block has breathed new life into a building that’s been a landmark in Walsall for the past 40 years.

“We hope that the change of use from offices to apartments will create the kind of footfall that directly benefits this part of the town centre.”

Tameway (Midlands) has been working alongside property investment firm, Prosperity Wealth, to market the development.

Joe Billingham, CEO at Prosperity Wealth, said: “Walsall is a commuter town that is reinventing itself and Tameway Plaza is an excellent example of a good value, high-yielding property for investors.

“The appetite for apartments has been tremendous. Of the 145 apartments, 126 have already been sold and we are now looking forward to the first occupiers moving in at the end of September.”
