Client demand prompts law firm’s Birmingham city centre expansion

Law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) has expanded in Birmingham, taking an entire floor of a city centre building in a move it says has been prompted by client demand.
The firm has agreed a new five year lease to take the first floor of 63 Church Street, totalling around 3,350 sq ft.
HCR currently occupies part of the first floor but since moving into the Church St building last May with 15 people, staff number have doubled, with further recruitment plans in the pipeline.
Kevin Harris-James, head of the Birmingham office, said: “As we have added to our teams in response to this demand, by adding licensing and regulatory, corporate, construction and immigration experts for instance, the demand has grown further and we anticipate strong growth for the year ahead, both in these new areas and in our well-established family law, clinical negligence and insolvency teams.”
Savills represented Cathedral Property in the deal.
Sam Cooke, associate in the office agency team at Savills, said: “With its prime location, close proximity to a range of amenities and unrivalled transport links, Church Street is one of the city’s most sought after business addresses.
“It is testament to this that HCR has committed to taking additional space in the building. This leaves us with one, newly refurbished, office suite available in the building and we anticipate good levels of demand.”
