Building work has now started on an extension to the Four Ashes Enterprise Centre in South Staffordshire, which is set to more than double in size.

Due for completion in Spring 2020, the local enterprise centre was first developed in 2004 with the construction of 13 industrial units ranging in size from 807 to 1,614 sq ft.

The new extension means that another 21 industrial units will be added.

The new industrial units will range in size but the majority of them will be less than 2,000 sq ft.

The Four Ashes Enterprise Centre is already home to 13 businesses.

The enterprise centre is owned by South Staffordshire Council, which currently manages seven commercial estates with premises provided in a range of sizes and specifications and let on a variety of flexible lease terms.

This includes Four Ashes Enterprise Centre, Littleton Business Park in Huntington, South Staffordshire Business Park in Cheslyn Hay, Landywood Enterprise Park in Great Wyrley, Heathmill Enterprise Centre in Wombourne, Hilton Main Industrial Estate in Essington and Wombourne Enterprise Park.

“There are significant economic benefits to the expansion of the Four Ashes Enterprise Centre and we know there is strong demand for this sort of industrial unit in the local area,” said Cllr Brian Edwards, Leader of South Staffordshire Council.

“As a council, it’s important that we do everything we can to help the local economy and business community and this extension could bring up to 100 jobs to the area. We’re proud to offer a range of services and business premises at competitive prices, especially those that cater for new, starter and small businesses, with the emphasis on locally based entrepreneurs and growth space for existing small enterprises.”

“This is a really exciting project to be involved with and it will bring real benefits to the district in terms of jobs and boosting the local economy,” added Jonathan Williams, senior project manager at Clugston Construction, which has been appointed to build the Enterprise Centre’s new extension.

“We’re delighted to be involved and we’re looking forward to delivering a successful project for the council.”
