Jobs created with Screwfix branch launch

Screwfix has opened a branch in Alcester, creating ten jobs at the unit at Arden Business Centre.

Unit 19 at the Arden Business Centre provides 4,239 sq ft of space and was snapped up by Screwfix on a ten year lease at £28,000 a year.

The trade retailer has spent recent weeks fitting out the new store, which is set to officially open on October 3.

Store manager Amy Stackhouse said: “I’m confident we’ve got a great location here in Alcester. My team and I have been getting to know local businesses and tradespeople and we look forward to supporting them in their busy lives, with a focus on customer service.”

Ben Truslove, joint managing director of property agency John Truslove, said: “We are delighted to have secured such a strong tenant for the owners, and on good terms. It can only add value to what is already a strong property, offering good quality accommodation in a popular area.

“I am sure it will prove a highly successful new branch for Screwfix. This underlines the continuing attractions of this area for a wide range of businesses.”

Sam Robinson of property agency Colliers, who represented Screwfix, said: “Ben Truslove and his team understood our requirements and acted immediately to identify an ideal property for Screwfix and we are very pleased the deal proceeded swiftly to enable our clients to open a new branch in early October.”
