Developer submits plans for 48,000 sq ft Longbridge office scheme

How the scheme would look

Plans for a 48,000 sq ft office block in Longbridge Town centre have been filed with Birmingham City Council.

St Modwen wants to develop 2 Park Square, a four-storey building on land currently used as a car park next to Bournville College in a move that will create enough office space for 450 people. The finished building, designed by Associated Architects, will have 125 car parking spaces and enough room for 68 bikes.

The site was originally used as a car manufacturing plant and its history will be referenced throughout the building, say the architects.

Robert Flavell, head of major projects for the Midlands and North at St Modwen, said: “Longbridge
is fast becoming a hub for innovative living and working. Our proposed design reflects a campus style that sits at the very heart of the town and would make an ideal headquarters for a business looking to relocate to a suburban setting.

“We’re currently at full occupancy for commercial space in Longbridge so this development presents a unique opportunity for a business to take advantage of new-age office space that’s modern and ideally located.

“Longbridge is already a brilliant place to do business and we’re committed to diversifying its offer and truly unlocking its potential for the next phase.”
