People: Law firm welcomes new recruits; Cushman & Wakefield announces Birmingham promotions; and more

Three new recruits have joined the team at Forresters’ Birmingham office as the company celebrates its 135th year in business.

Forresters is a firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, which can trace its history back to 1884 when Charles Ketley established the company in Birmingham.

During that time it has grown to include more than 130 employees across its five offices in Britain and mainland Europe, including 16 partners.

Recently joining the team as trainee patent attorneys are Jonathan Foster, Ben Shepherd and Olivia Wang.

Real estate advisory firm Cushman & Wakefield has announced 71 promotions across its EMEA business, including six at its Birmingham office.

Arthur Morgan (Residential), Angela Singh (Global Occupier Services) and Donna Ward (Information Technology) have all been promoted to associate director level.

Brady Harrison and Harry Young (both Valuation & Advisory) are now senior surveyors while Gemma Ford (Global Occupier Services) is now surveyor level.

Financial services broker Midlands Asset Finance (MAF) has announced the appointment of four directors for the creation of its new national healthcare finance division.

Heading the division up will be the newly appointed director and head of healthcare finance, Mike Gascoigne, who previously spent ten years as a member of the corporate healthcare team at Santander, and his team will comprise Wesley Hodelin, Mindy Kaur-Smith and Shital Koria.

Speaking on the creation of the new division, MAF director and head of business development, Dave Chapman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mike and the team to launch our healthcare division, as we continue with our expansion to help more clients achieve their growth ambitions.

“We will be looking to support our clients with all aspects of funding in the care sector with core lending to build new care homes and refinance existing ones, together with supporting the whitecoat sectors and their asset finance requirements, too.”
