Trampoline centre destroyed by fire reveals re-opening date

A multi-activity trampoline centre which was destroyed by fire has announced it will re-open in the third quarter of this year.

Planning permission was granted in December for a 32,000 sq ft unit plus a 9,000 sq ft first floor viewing gallery to replace the building destroyed by fire last October which housed the popular Red Kangaroo Trampoline Park.

More than 70 firefighters tackled the blaze in School Lane but were unable to save the building which had been converted to a huge trampoline park and play centre earlier in 2018. The fire was subsequently proved to have been started accidentally.

Paul Graham-Fielding, marketing and sales director, said: “After the devastation of the fire at Coventry in 2018 which left the park at School Lane beyond
repair, the Red Kangaroo team along with its insurers and the local council have been working tirelessly to put a plan in place to restore the site and revive Coventry’s much loved trampoline park.

“2019 was a successful year for the Red Kangaroo Group; Our Reading and Nottingham parks saw significant growth cementing their place in the local community as the ‘go to’ venue for children and families to experience a great day out in a safe and fun environment. In the early part of 2020 further products and developments will be added to those sites to encourage even more growth from within the community, and our Coventry plans are built on the learnings from those sites.

“We have received huge support from the local public, and those that used the park in it’s first iteration have shared many happy memories from their time spent at RedKangaroo throughout 2018.

“We are delighted to be able to announce that the park will return in Q3 of 2020 and families from Coventry and the surrounding areas will be able to enjoy many more great days out our new site.”

Since being given the green light by the required authorities the company has completed the demolition of the previous building and the development of the new site is now underway.

“A lot of time, effort and hard work has gone in to securing the rebuild of our Coventry site. And when the park venue returns later this year it’s going to be much, much more than just a trampoline park,” said Paul Wrightma, CEO of RedKangaroo.
