£5m contract tastes good for catering company

Staffordshire’s largest independent contract catering company is kicking off 2020 with a £5m deal.

Totally Delicious is expanding its portfolio to 16 stores, taking on three new North East venues and increasing staff numbers to more than 150 – a 17% rise overnight.

The latest success for the Stone-based business involves a seven-year contract with the Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums service to run all event catering and cafes at the Discovery Museum, the Laing Art Gallery and Great North Museum, in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

“We are excited to be taking the Totally Delicious brand into new areas,” said managing director Dominic Bowers. “Our company is continuing to look forward, thanks to our successful recipe – great food, great people inspiring venues and a big dollop of passion.”

Totally Delicious has restaurants at Trentham Gardens, cafés at visitor attractions, including Middleport Pottery and staff restaurants at large companies, including KMF Engineering, Portmeirion Pottery, Autonet and Steelite.

Bowers said: “Via a competitive tender process, we were able to demonstrate our passion for what we do along with our track record managing large venues.

“We work hard to provide stimulating venues which look good and serve food that fits the market and tastes fantastic. We will work with the three venues in Tyneside to increase brand reputation, activity, efficiency and transactional spend with visitors coming back again and again.”

The deal will see 25 catering staff at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museum venues transfer to Totally Delicious.

Along with its 2019 contract win at Lingfield Point in Darlington, Totally Delicious now has an annual £1m plus business in the North East alone.
