A Birmingham-based company is set to relocate to 38,223 sq ft of space at Blythe Valley Park near junction 4, M42.

Evac+Chair International, which has been manufacturing a leading evacuation chair as well as a range of patient transportation products for more than 35 years, is moving to IM Properties’ Connexion scheme.

The manufacturer will join Gymshark, Lounge and Hofer Powertrain Products as part of a diverse mix of occupiers on the new campus.

Connexion consists of five high specification industrial & logistic units, ranging from 31,205 to 56,888 sq ft and forms part of a mixed-use community at Blythe Valley Park including offices and residential housing surrounded by 122 acres of parkland.

Gerard Wallace managing director of Evac+Chair International said: “We are extremely excited to be making the move to our new, larger premises in Spring this year.

“Our primary goal is to be the undisputed, world class leader in the design, development and manufacture of life safety products, whether that be for building residents in the event of an emergency, or critical-care patients during emergency transportation. The new factory, warehouse and office space will enable us to continue on this mission, whilst we better position the business for continued growth.

“Connexion is a fantastic scheme which will help to facilitate the future growth of Evac+Chair International and, as a result, the safety of buildings, occupants and the transportation of patients worldwide.”

Rachael Clarke, development manager at IM Properties said: “Connexion has struck a chord with occupiers looking to reflect the innovative nature of their businesses.”

“Connexion has set a new benchmark for industrial units in the Midlands, its success underpins IM Properties’ pioneering approach, always looking to deliver best in class and be at the forefront of new trends.

“This is part of the Blythe Valley Park ethos, which is one of the region’s first truly mixed-use schemes combining industrial units with new homes and commercial offices. The site has an established wellbeing agenda and a wide range of amenities from a gym to an independent coffee shop.”

Clarke added: “We have further exciting news to announce on the final unit which cements Connexion’s success in helping to retain key growth businesses in the region contributing significantly to the local economy.”

CBRE & Savills act as joint agents on the scheme.
