People: Real estate firm boosts headcount; New partners appointed at law firm; and more

Birmingham property consultancy MK2 Real Estate has boosted its headcount with the appointment of three staff.

Ross Cuthbert has joined the firm’s investment team as an associate director from Gerald Eve, where he worked for three years. Prior to that, Ross spent two years in the capital markets team at Deloitte Real Estate in London.

He works with a range of institutional, property company, local authority, overseas and private clients, advising on acquisitions and sales.

Chris Rice has joined MK2’s building consultancy team as a senior surveyor from Savills in Birmingham. His appointment takes the number of people in the team to three and comes on the back of a number of new project wins, including being instructed as employer’s agent on the Cat B fit-out of a 180,000 sq ft new industrial unit in the West Midlands.

MK2’s property management team has also welcomed a new senior surveyor, Renu Suthi, who has joined from Workman. Suthi will assist with day-to-day management of the team’s £400million property portfolio, including rent collection and service charges.

Law firm Lanyon Bowdler has appointed three new partners to help strengthen two of its major legal teams.

The appointments took effect from February and involve promotions from within the firm.

Emma Broomfield and Beth Heath are key members of the clinical negligence team in Shrewsbury, while Sarah Whittall, who specialises in commercial and agricultural property, is based in the firm’s office in Hereford.

Heath joined Lanyon Bowdler in 2012 and progressed to associate solicitor before becoming one of the firm’s youngest partners this year.

She has worked on a variety of clinical negligence cases, particularly, in recent times, relating to the Shrewsbury and Telford hospitals maternity scandal. directory.

Broomfield has been with Lanyon Bowdler since September 2003, she has more than 15 years specialised experience in clinical negligence litigation, is a member of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel and a senior litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Whittall qualified in 1989 and joined Lanyon Bowdler in 2017. She has spent over 25 years working in Herefordshire specialising in both commercial and agricultural property work.

She acts for a number of local commercial landlords and is also involved in the sale and purchase of development land for landowners and developers.

Lanyon Bowdler has offices across Shropshire, in Hereford and Bromyard, and Conwy in North Wales.

Real estate advisor Savills has announced 11 promotions at its Birmingham office.

The promotions will see four people move up to director level, four become associate directors and a further three take on the role of associate.
