Property entrepreneur takes full control of development and investment firm

Kevin Sharkey

Property entrepreneur Kevin Sharkey has acquired full control of Birmingham-based development and investment business Key Land Capital.

Ambitious growth plans have been put in place following the acquisition of former business partner Alex Sutherland’s 50% share of the business.

In return, Sutherland has acquired 100% share capital of Performance Windows Fabrications Ltd (PWF), from Key Land Capital.

Sharkey, co-founder of Key Land Capital, said: “This marks the beginning of a new era for Key Land Capital and we have some exciting developments in the pipeline. We are focusing on reaching a new audience for our property investment opportunities by embracing cutting edge technology and taking advantage of the digital transformation of the property industry.

“I am excited at the prospect of developing Key Land Capital through a targeted focus on PropTech, Smart Buildings and Real Estate Fintech, and how this new and emerging technology can be applied to add value across the real estate sector. Key Land Capital is positioning itself as an innovator and disrupter within the industry.”

The company will expand its national residential and commercial portfolio through a combination of acquisition and development.

Sharkey added: “Alex and I were co-founders of Key Land Capital and each had our own specific expertise within the business – Alex on the operational businesses and myself on the property development and investment projects. We can both be proud of what we achieved but this buyout gives us each the focus and opportunity to develop our own specific business interests.

“At PWF, Alex has a fantastic opportunity presented by ever increasing demand for aluminium windows and doors. I’m looking forward to watching it grow.”

Key Land Capital is delivering residential projects worth more than £40m across the West Midlands.
