New CEO for Calthorpe Estates

Calthorpe Estates has announced that Haydn Cooper will be joining as chief executive, succeeding Mark Lee.

The company said Cooper will lead the team at a “very important stage” in the evolution of the mixed-used 1,600 acre estate in Edgbaston, as it drives forward its multi-million pound regeneration portfolio.

He will oversee the sustainable growth of Edgbaston Village, Edgbaston Medical Quarter and Pebble Mill, alongside the rejuvenation of the Commercial Centre and major projects to include New Garden Square.

Cooper has worked extensively for both the Grosvenor and Cadogan Estates in London, and most recently for the Duchy of Cornwall and as an advisor to the Duchy of Lancaster.

He said: “I am very much looking forward to joining Calthorpe Estates, working with a great team who have delivered so much for Edgbaston and Birmingham over recent years. It is a hugely exciting opportunity to continue the transformation of this historic family-owned estate and work on its 50 year vision to create thriving communities and a prime destination within Birmingham and the UK.”

Chair of trustees Andrew Parker said: “On behalf of Calthorpe Estates, I am delighted to welcome Haydn to this role. I am sure his experience and leadership will help move the Estate forward and he will support the team in continuing to create places where people want to live, work and relax.”

Cooper will start the role on July 13.
