Hotel near Birmingham International Airport for sale at auction

A hotel close to Birmingham International Airport and the NEC is up for sale at a remote bidding auction later this month.

The Heath Lodge Hotel at 117 Coleshill Road in Marston Green, which has been offering accommodation since the late 1960s, has a guide price of £750,000 plus.

The detached, three-storey property has 23 en suite bedrooms.

Ian Tudor, managing director at Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “Heath Lodge is a long-established and very well-presented hotel with a licensed bar and restaurant.

“But it’s the hotel’s location that will make it really popular with bidders at our auction, with it being around one-and-a-half miles from the city’s international airport and railway stations, The NEC and  Resorts World.

“The proximity of nearby business centres coupled with other places of interest and tourist attractions ensure a broad business base.

“This makes it a prime accommodation venue for business visitors and conference delegates during the week, and then tourists and NEC concert-goers at the weekend, and it could be a healthy ongoing business to develop once the COVID-19 lockdown eases.”

Tudor added: “While the property is suitable for a continuation of its existing use as a hotel, it could just as easily be developed for a variety of alternative uses including residential, care home, multiple occupation or day nursery, subject to planning permission.”

The hotel is one of 131 properties in the auction on Wednesday 24 June that starts at 10am and will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe Auctions’ website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.
