Major Digbeth residential scheme gets green light

How the scheme will look

Plans to transform a site in Digbeth into a major residential scheme have been given the green light by Birmingham City Council’s planning committee.

Euro Property Developments will demolish industrial units at 176-183 Moseley Street and build a part six/seven storey scheme which will include 131 one- and two-bedroom, plus duplex, apartments for the private rented sector.

The scheme will include a landscaped internal courtyard, with each apartment including a balcony or open terrace.

The development is being designed by Yeme Architects.

A statement accompanying the planning application reads: “This proposal maximises the development potential of the site in order to create a high quality, community driven scheme. The development aids the regeneration of the surrounding area whilst celebrating the built heritage of the Southside and Highgate area.

“The proposal makes a significant contribution towards the aims of the Big City Plan and helps reinforce confidence within the local developments through the quality of design.”
