City council instructs agents on industrial units

Agents at Harris Lamb are marketing a collection of new industrial units on behalf of Stoke-On-Trent City Council.

Daniel Platts Business Park, comprising 12 high-specification warehouse units on Charles Clowes Drive, were originally built by Clowes Developments.

Andrew Groves, director at Harris Lamb’s Stoke office, said that the business’ agency team had negotiated the sale on behalf of Clowes Developments, and have been subsequently instructed by the council to act as marketing agents on the scheme.

“The council’s acquisition of Daniel Platts Business Park follows the adjacent Tunstall Trade Park reaching full capacity last month following the letting of a 30,000 sq ft purpose-built facility for Assurant Device Care. The 11-unit estate was subsequently sold for £6m to Stenprop.

“To date, over 300,000 sq ft of industrial space has been developed on Brownhills Road by Clowes Developments for occupiers including Tile Mountain, Toolstation and JCH Marine, and we are delighted to have been appointed to market Daniel Platts Business Park, which forms the next phase of development at the site.”

“We expect high levels of interest in the scheme, which offers businesses the chance to occupy 2,000 to 12,000 sq ft of high-quality warehousing,” he said.

He added: “Not only does the business park’s prime location provide good access to key arterial roads in the area and the motorway network, but it is located within the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone, where eligible occupiers can benefit from significant business rates savings of up to £275,000 over a five year period, subject to being in occupation by March 31st 2021, something that we’re sure businesses attracted to this popular area will certainly be keen to capitalise on.”
