Civil engineering firm launches recruitment drive

Civil engineering and infrastructure company Story Contracting is looking to expand its footprint in Birmingham with the launch of a major recruitment drive.

The company is searching for its next scheme project managers, assistant project managers and site managers, who would be based from both the company’s Birmingham office and from its rail sites across the region.

The roles will contribute to the rail team’s delivery of Network Rail’s £38m framework contract for the London North Western rail route, covering the Crewe to London line.

Jason Tierney, contracts manager, said: “We have recently had significant opportunities from Network Rail into the rail routes across the Central and West Coast Mainline. We’re very excited about the prospect of bringing new people into our dynamic and ambitious team to help us deliver this exciting workbank over the next few years.”

Story’s Birmingham office opened in July 2019 and is one of eight offices across the UK belonging to the company.

Recent years have seen rapid expansion take place within the business, which now employs over 700 people and enjoys a national reputation for delivering rail, plant and construction solutions across England and Scotland.
