Logistics giant signs for 120,000 sq ft distribution centre

Logistics giant Kuehne and Nagel has signed a new lease the 120,595 sq ft warehouse on the 13-acre Kingpin Industrial Park in Tyseley, Birmingham.

The announcement means the park has reached full capacity.

Charles D’Auncey, head of agency at Harris Lamb, said: “Having been built to the latest design and environmental standards, with superb security, parking and yard facilities, Unit 3 is one of the last 100,000-sq ft-plus opportunities within the Midlands, and further to high levels of interest, we are delighted to have secured Kuehne and Nagel as the latest occupiers at the park.

“The business was attracted to the park primarily due to its close proximity to Birmingham city centre and its excellent links to the UK motorway network, making it a prime location from a logistics, staffing and demand perspective.

“The size and high specification of the opportunity further contributed to the logistics specialist’s decision to site its operation at Kingpin, which boasts the strong industrial credentials of being sited in one of the most successful hubs of Birmingham within the manufacturing, storage and distribution sectors.”

The industrial park is accessed off Wharfdale Road, with other occupiers including Travis Perkins, SIG and Grayson.

Kuehne and Nagel was advised by Clews & Co Chartered Surveyors.
