Jewellery Quarter demolition bring mixed-use scheme a step closer

Birmingham-based property developer, Cordia Blackswan, has completed clearance of its latest site on Great Hampton Street.
Taking place at 5:30am to minimise disruption and ensure safety of pedestrians and road users, the demolition clears the way for Cordia Blackswan to begin delivery of The Lamp Works, a contemporary rental development reflecting the architectural heritage of the Jewellery Quarter.
Located on the site of a former textile and furniture factory and close to the Lord Clifton, the Lamp Works is a residential-led mixed-use scheme, providing a mix of 148 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
The Lamp Works will also host a selection of commercial units, fronting Great Hampton Street and Harford Street.
The new development will comprise six blocks around a striking urban woodland, with original steel structural design created by a multi-award-winning landscape designer.
Construction will begin in August 2021 with apartments ready for occupation in 2023.
