KPMG’s former restructuring division opens Birmingham office
KPMG’s former restructuring practice has opened an office in Birmingham city centre.
Interpath Advisory, which was formed last year following the sale of KPMG’s UK Restructuring practice, has moved to 45 Church Street.
Interpath has taken space in the recently refurbished landmark office building, and joins other tenants in the premises including JLL, Hymans Robertson and Frontier Development Capital.
Interpath was founded in May 2021 following the sale of KPMG’s UK restructuring practice to H.I.G. Capital and Interpath’s managing directors. The firm, which is headquartered in London, opened its first office in Edinburgh last September, swiftly followed by premises in Leeds, Birmingham, Glasgow, Nottingham, Reading, Newcastle and Aberdeen.
It has plans to open a further three offices in London, Manchester and Bristol between now and Spring 2022.
Interpath has a team of 45 restructuring, turnaround and deal advisory specialists in Birmingham.
Chris Pole, head of Interpath’s team across the Midlands and South, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our new office right in the heart of the Birmingham business community.
“Our team has a long and proud heritage of working shoulder to shoulder with organisations across the Midlands helping them to navigate periods of challenge and areas of opportunity. While we’re all adapting to new ways of flexible working in the wake of the pandemic, it’s great that we now have a space that we can call our own, where we can host clients and contacts and reconnect in person.”
He added: “Being in such a central location in the heart of the local business community will give us the flexibility to collaborate across our growing team, particularly as we build out our new Deal Advisory offerings under the leadership of Russell Worrall and Neil Sumner.”
Blair Nimmo, chief executive of Interpath Advisory, said: “Following the opening of the first Interpath office in Edinburgh last September, the roll-out of our UK office portfolio continues at pace. These fantastic new premises in Birmingham, which will house one of our largest regional teams, reaffirms our longstanding commitment to the city region.”
