Recruitment drive heats up with 350 vacancies at contractor

A Midlands-based electrical and heating contractor is set to recruit 350 staff across the UK.

The drive, by NC Contract Services, will more than double its workforce, is to facilitate the companies focus on renewable energy and energy-efficient solutions.

There is a range of contracts such as for installation of energy-efficient boilers, air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging point installations.

The company itself aims to be no less than 66% green by the end of 2022, with a 100% green order book by the end of 2023.

It will now only recommend or sell installations of gas-fired appliances that are AAA+ energy-efficient rated whilst committing to an air source heat pump trial in Cambridgeshire which will be rolled out soon nationwide.

NC Contract Services CEO Russell Albutt said: “Our business is fully aligned with the Government’s objective to reduce carbon emissions.

“We have introduced initiatives such as the rollout of electric vans and estate cars for our colleagues, no single-use plastic in our offices, paperless administration and cycle to work incentives.

“The carbon tonnage already saved is astounding and the forecast savings are significant. We firmly believe we have a responsibility to our communities.”

With headquarters in Cannock, positions are available in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

There are around 120 vacancies for service and repair engineers, 95 roles for heat installation engineers, 75 vacancies for electricians and 50 openings for support staff such as builders and plumbers.
