Medieval castle’s hotel and restaurant plans set for approval
Plans to build a 60-bed hotel at Warwick Castle are set to get the green light.
Operator Merlin Entertainments wants to build a two-storey hotel on part of the Stratford Road car park near the current Knight’s Village.
There are also plans to create a new play area and extend the restaurant.
Warwick District Council planning committee has been recommended to grant permission when it considers the application next Wednesday.
Historic England dropped its previous environmental objections after concerns about landscaping were addressed.
