People: McCarthy Stone; Anthony Collins Solicitors

Katie Fisher

McCarthy Stone, the developer and manager of retirement communities, has appointed Katie Fisher as its new divisional managing director for the Midlands.

Fisher brings a wealth of experience to McCarthy Stone. For the past three years, she has been CEO at St Andrew’s Healthcare, a charity with both national and international reach, employing more than 4,000 people and delivering specialist mental healthcare services, education and research. Prior to this, she was CEO at the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust where she ran the NHS hospitals at Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead, employing around 4,500 people and supporting 600,000 patients a year.

Fisher said: “This is an exciting time to be joining McCarthy Stone as its Midlands portfolio expands and strengthens. I am a firm believer in the many benefits of retirement living, from keeping people healthy and encouraging independence, to fostering community and reducing loneliness. I am looking forward to helping the organisation and the Midlands’s division meet its growth ambitions.”

Kirsty Duxbury

Kirsty Duxbury, a lawyer at social purpose law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors (ACS) and Deputy Registrar of the Diocese of Blackburn, has been appointed as Diocesan Registrar of the Diocese of Worcester.

Prior to joining ACS, she spent ten years developing a specialism in ecclesiastical law.

The appointment follows the arrival of Lisa Moncur, the Church of England’s Diocesan Registrar for both the Diocese of Chester and the Diocese of Blackburn, who took up the position of consultant solicitor at ACS in January this year.

Duxbury was personally appointed as the Registrar for the Diocese of Worcester by the Diocesan Bishop, with responsibilities that include advising on marriage law, clergy appointments, faculties, pastoral reorganisation, burials, and churchyard matters.

She also provides general legal advice to clergy parochial church councils and churchwardens.

Duxbury said: “Anthony Collins Solicitors has a clear commitment to support lives, communities and society, and with a strong reputation in the faith and charity sectors, growing its ecclesiastical offering will support its mission.”

“I am looking forward to working with Lisa and supporting the expanding team to make a positive impact on society.”
