Shrewsbury 70-bed care development sold to care home group

Healthcare development broker, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a care development site in Battlefield, a suburb of Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

Specialist developer, Frontier Estates, secured planning permission for a contemporary 70-bedroom care home over the 1.97-acre site, which will create 60 jobs.

All bedrooms feature en suite wet rooms and residents will be able to enjoy amenities such as a café, salon, choice of living and day spaces, activity room, and a family room. The home will be surrounded by landscaped, accessible gardens with a variety of functional spaces.

Following a competitive sales process with Christie & Co, the site has been sold to Rotherwood Group.

Works are due to commence in Spring 2023.

The site was sold for an undisclosed price.
