Birmingham lawyers act on sale of pesticide specialist

A team of lawyers from Birmingham’s Mackrell Solicitors have advised on a deal which saw Smithers, a provider of testing, consulting, information and compliance services, acquiring Derby-based ResChem Analytical.

The acquisition of ResChem, which specialises in pesticide residue analysis, includes the offices and laboratories at the firm’s Derby headquarters.

It will allow Smithers, which is headquartered in Ohio with a UK base in Surrey, to extend its global pesticide residue offering along with expanding its network of field co-operators.

Michael Hochschwender, CEO of Smithers, said: “ResChem significantly enhances Smithers’ global pesticide residue offering by expanding our capacity, capabilities, expertise, and network of field cooperators, which greatly benefits our global clients in the agrochemical sector. In addition, we share a steadfast commitment to a client-first culture.”

ResChem Analytical was advised by Mackrell Solicitors.

Smithers was advised on the deal by the corporate team at Pennington Manches Cooper.
