Work gets started on transforming hotel at Coventry Building Society Arena

A four-star hotel in Coventry is set for major investment as it undergoes a full refurbishment.

Work is underway on the transformation of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Coventry Building Society Arena – which opened under the Doubletree brand in 2015 – and the project is set for completion by summer 2024.

The refurbishment will be completed in stages to ensure the hotel stays open to guests throughout the project.

It will see significant investment from the hotel with all 121 bedrooms being renovated, a new-look lobby, restaurant and the introduction of new technology in bedrooms.

The hotel was last refurbished seven years ago and is working with Leicestershire-based Franklin Ellis Architects to design the new rooms and public spaces.

The lobby is set to be completed before the end of the year, with an extension of the lounge, new lighting, design features, comfortable seating and Doubletree signage installed to welcome guests for their stay.

Raj Balsaraf, general manager at the hotel, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the hotel and we are confident that guests will be impressed when they see the results of the refurbishment project.

“We are proud of the premium experience we already offer to guests, but to ensure that we maintain that level it is vital that we invest and seek to continuously improve.

“We have worked closely with designers to make sure that every change we make will contribute to an enhanced guest experience.

“The project is being completed in phases and will mean that the work can be carried out with minimal disruption for guests.”
