Waterside apartment scheme sells out two years ahead of completion

A Birmingham waterside apartment scheme has secured £72m in sales ahead of an expected completion of 2025.

Affinity Living Lancaster Wharf, a 23-storey residence has sold all 266 of its apartments. The scheme, which is being developed and operated by Select Property, broke ground this summer with main contractor Torsion.

Located on Princip Street, Lancaster Wharf comprises one and two-bedroom apartments, alongside a gym, rooftop garden, co-working space, open lounge area and garden that will host events for residents.

Adam Price, CEO of Select Property, said: “Buyers and global investors are sold on the winning formula we’ve created with Affinity Living in Manchester, focused on building resident communities with inspirational spaces that nurture wellbeing.

“Selling out our first Birmingham residence represents a huge vote of confidence for the city and its residential market, which has only enhanced our mission to bring Affinity Living to the ambitious young professionals of the UK’s second city.

“We’re enjoying occupancy rates of over 96% across our four Manchester Affinity Living residences, and can expect the same popularity of future residents in Birmingham once we open Lancaster Wharf’s doors in 2025.”

Designers Corstorphine + Wright Architects say the scheme will blend the Midlands industrial heritage with modern contemporary architecture.

Work continues to progress on site with groundwork and demolition of the previous structure complete. The building’s foundations are currently being progressed with construction set for full completion in Q3 2025.
