Building Briefs: Pertemps, Nitenite Hotel, Phoenix Retail

RECRUITMENT agency Pertemps People Development Group has taken two new offices in Wolverhampton and West Bromwich.
PPDG has agreed five-year leases on 4,500 sq ft premises at Waterloo Court, Wolverhampton, and 6,000 sq ft at Guardian House in West Bromwich. The firm is expanding its existing operations in both areas.
West Bromwich-based Bond Wolfe, which owns Waterloo Court, acted on both deals. Guardian House is owned by Real Estate Investors.
Bond Wolfe managing partner James Mattin said: “We were delighted to assist Pertemps People Development Group with their recent office relocations.
“Both buildings represent strong examples of current market demand as PPDG will utilise open plan space to maximise their needs in a challenging market place.”

COLLIERS International, acting on behalf of joint administrators Ryan Grant and Simon Wilson of Zolfo Cooper in Birmingham, have been instructed to sell the city’s Nitenite Hotel.
The Japanese-style “pod” hotel in Holliday Street, whose 104 bedrooms are windowless, continues to trade despite falling into administration earlier this month.
The property has a long leasehold spanning from 125 years from 2006 when the hotel opened.

CONSTRUCTION work has started on the new £8m Phoenix Retail Park in the Longton area of Stoke.
The first phase of the project, being led by regeneration specialist St. Modwen Properties, is intended to kick-start the wider redevelopment of the former Phoenix Timber Yard site.
Plans include five new retail units totalling 42,100 sq ft, together with a McDonald’s, plus parking for 233 cars. Pets at Home and Smyths Toys have also already been secured as tenants.
