Corporate advisory business launched with appointment of MD

Sama Investments, a Birmingham-based residential developer and investor, has launched a new corporate advisory business, Sama Capital.

Kazi Hussain has been appointed managing director to spearhead the new firm alongside founding partners which include Bilal Ahmed, executive Chairman, and Paul Squire, CEO and the former CEO of Al Rayan Bank in the UK, Sultan Choudhury.

Based in Birmingham and London, the business will offer corporate, real estate, and private debt advice, as well as helping clients understand and access Islamic finance.

Hussain joins with extensive banking and capital markets experience across the Middle and Far East. He built the Islamic finance business at Europe Arab Bank in London before heading up a banking organisation in Jeddah. Hussain has also held senior positions at HSBC, Commerzbank, and IDB.

Sama Investments has recently submitted a planning application for a 238-bed student scheme on the former Goods Yard, as part of a phased redevelopment of The Arcadian Centre.
