Consultancy chosen for UK Battery Industrialisation Centre projects

The Midlands-based firm will be responsible for designing and constructing a two-storey mezzanine and new laboratory space at the national battery manufacturing development facility, situated near Coventry Airport.
During the initial 20-week phase, Office Principles North will focus on creating approximately 8,000 sq ft of open-plan office space, along with meeting and conference rooms within the warehouse process hall.
This extension will involve intricate steel and M&E (mechanical and electrical) works, including the installation of a new link bridge connecting to the second floor.
The subsequent phase will involve the construction of a single-storey structure, providing around 3,000 sq ft of modern laboratory space dedicated to exploratory work.
The facility will be outfitted with features such as wipe-down surfaces, electrostatic flooring, and air conditioning systems.
This project will be carried out in close collaboration with Ridge and Partners LLP and AtkinsRéalis.
