Partnership formed to carry out sustainable construction of 5,000 homes

Storm Housing Group, a social housing provider, has partnered with CarbonWise and Saint-Gobain Off-Site Solutions to advance sustainable construction.

Storm Housing Group and CarbonWise are set to construct their flagship home at Tyseley Energy Park in collaboration with the National Centre for the Decarbonisation of Heat (NCDH).

£20m in Levelling Up funding was awarded to the University of Birmingham for the NCDH in December of 2023.

The plan is to deliver 5,000 homes in five years and the NCDH project will include open houses for testing sustainable products, training centres, and collaboration with academia and industry partners for continuous improvement.

CarbonWise Construction has established a supply agreement with Saint-Gobain Off-Site Solutions to build housing with low-carbon, energy-efficient designs.

Storm and CarbonWise intend to move to the NCDH campus and aim to redefine sustainable construction by utilising Saint-Gobain’s products to provide cost-effective, environmentally friendly solutions.
