900-home retrofit programme launched by partnership

Matrix Housing Partnership has announced it is set to work with Sustainable Building Services (SBS) on a 905-property social housing retrofit programme.
Once completed, the project will benefit over 1,750 people and save 1.6m kilograms of CO2 emissions annually.
Funded with more than £12m from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Wave 2.1 and totalling £26m, the project is set to be finished by Spring 2025.
The retrofit measures include various insulation types, new windows and doors, ventilation upgrades, air source heat pumps, battery storage, low-energy lighting, and solar PV.
Each property aims to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of at least C after the upgrades.
The seven-member consortium of social housing providers spans the South West, Midlands, and Southern England, with SBS managing regional teams and workplaces in each area.
Matrix Housing Partnership includes GreenSquareAccord, Black Country Housing Group, Citizen Housing Group, Pioneer Housing and Community Group, Rooftop Housing Association, Trent & Dove Housing, and Trident Housing Association.
