National waste manager swoops for new premises

Veolia, the national waste management company, has increased its coverage after acquiring a new site in Stoke on Trent.
A waste transfer station on the outskirts of the city has been purchased, as Veolia looks to boost local service capabilities.
Unit 9 on the Mossfield Industrial Estate in Stoke on Trent had a rare Waste Transfer Licence, which took Veolia’s interest.
William Speed of Salloway Property Consultants, who negotiated the deal on behalf of a private client said: “Given the property benefitted from a rare Waste Transfer Licence, it was almost inevitable for a waste management company to show interest. These licences are increasingly scarce, increasing their value for occupiers who can leverage them. Veolia emerged as the ideal fit for this location.”
A representative from Veolia said: “Veolia is consistently searching for appropriate Waste Transfer Stations or properties that complement our operations. Unit 9 Mossfield Industrial Estate perfectly met our requirements to serve the Stoke area”.
