Maneki Ramen, a Japanese-inspired restaurant based in Worcester, has announced plans to open a second location in Birmingham next spring, creating 20 new jobs.

Since its founding in 2020, Maneki, part of the ART Hospitality group, has gained a loyal following for its authentic Japanese cuisine.

Popular menu items include Tebasaki Wings with Ginger and Furikake, Roast Duck Ramen with Sesame Bean Sprouts and Pak Choi, Katsu Curry with Sushi Rice, and Sesame Miso Shoyu with Charred Sweetcorn and Nori.

The new Maneki Ramen Birmingham will be located in the Jewellery Quarter, occupying a 2,000 sq ft space with seating for 70, plus an additional 40 seats downstairs.

The drinks menu will feature Suntory Haku Vodka, natural wines, and cocktails like the ‘East & West,’ a blend of Gin, Yuzu, Hibiscus, Lime, and Orange, ideal for pre-dinner drinks or after-dining catch-ups.

The team will be led by head chef Pete Dovaston.

Dovaston said: “Birmingham has a vibrant foodie scene, so opening a new restaurant in the city has been one of our business aspirations for some time. The new restaurant will be in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, we can’t wait to become part of the community and bring all the Maneki dishes people know and love, as well as introduce some extra new and exciting ones. We’ll see you soon Birmingham.”
