Recruitment firm secures funding for growth plans

Backed by £1.5m in capital funding from Lloyds, Lichfield-based Tradestech Recruitment aims to double its workforce and turnover within the next year.

The company plans to increase its team from seven to 12 employees and has recently moved into a larger office.

It has also strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Bobby Sproston as operations director.

Tradestech reported a turnover of £5m in its first full year and expects to surpass £10m in the next financial year.

Founded in early 2023 by Dan Feenan and Marc Byrne, Tradestech specialises in recruitment for the construction sector, working with both major contractors and SMEs.

The firm focuses on rail, HS2, renewables, vegetation management, residential housing, and mechanical & electrical (M&E) sectors.

Dan Feenan, director at Tradestech Recruitment said: “Our journey over the past year has been incredible. We set out to build a recruitment business that offers a high-touch, quality-driven service to the construction sector, and the response from the industry has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The support from Lloyds has been a game-changer for us. Not only has it allowed us to scale sustainably, but it has also enhanced our credibility with larger clients who value financial stability and compliance.”

Paul Warrington, relationship director at Lloyds said: “Tradestech Recruitment is a fantastic example of an ambitious SME with a clear vision and a strong growth strategy. Their impressive performance in such a short time highlights the demand for their specialised approach in construction recruitment. We’re pleased to be supporting them as they continue to expand, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in the sector.”
