Chamber launches new executive club

A NEW organisation aimed at uniting Birmingham’s professionals and entrepreneurs has been launched by Birmingham Chamber of Commerce.
The Birmingham Chamber Executive Club (CEC) has been established through one of the chamber satellite bodies, the Institute of Asian Businesses (IAB).
Chamber president Paul Bassi said the new venture was aimed at providing opportunities all round for professionals and entrepreneurs.
At the launch event at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham, Mr Bassi, also chairman of property investment company Bond Wolfe, said: “The CEC is about providing all with opportunities.
“It will not have a committee or a board, there will not be annual elections, there will be no presidents, vice-presidents and no politics to go with it.”
The chamber will put together a number of events and provide everyone with what they want, “ he added.
“There will be networking, providing business opportunities as part of a pool of talent. My only regret is that this club was not around 28 years ago when we set up – I’m sure it would have added value to our business,” he said.
