Shaylor scores contract wins worth £13m

BLACK Country construction group Shaylor has landed a string of new contract wins totalling more than £13m, the company has announced.
The Aldridge-based firm said all of its divisions had been successful in recent pitches across both the public and private sector.
Appointments include two new depots for electricity firm Western Power Distribution in Telford and Grantham and three new-build construction projects in the region – a private nursery called ‘ABC’ in Wolverhampton, a MyPlace Youth facility in Walsall and a courtyard extension at King Edwards VI High School for Girls, in Edgbaston.
Shaylor Interiors has also scored four new project wins comprising two accommodation refurbishment schemes at Warwick University, a refurbishment of student accommodation at Mansion Brook near the University of Birmingham campus and an office revamp in Bristol.
Founded in 1969, Shaylor employs around 150 people across three offices in Aldridge, Birmingham and London and has five business units with a combined turnover of around £60m in 2010.
Chief Executive Stephen Shaylor said he was delighted the group was maintaining its strategy of planned and managed growth.
“These contract wins include some notable projects and blue chip clients that reflect our commitment to providing added value with quality of service and delivery at its core,” he said.
