New managers to focus on international growth

BURTON-based Lorien Engineering Solutions has appointed two senior managers to focus on the growing international market. The company provides technical and project management services to clients in the food, brewing, drinks and life sciences sectors and delivers capital investment projects, sustainable energy and safety compliance work. Andrew Mieleniewski, who has spent the past two years as general manager of Lorien Engineering Polska in Poland, has been appointed as an engineering manager in the UK head office. Mr Mieleniewski will head up the company’s process and utilities technical team. Ian Cartwright, who previously managed the process engineering team, has been appointed business development manager for brewing and drinks. Managing director Steve Slater said: “These two internal appointments complete a strategic review of the business that has also seen a significant investment into the growth of the Lorien Engineering Polska business, with the appointment of a new MD for Poland who will be leading the further expansion of this part of the business.”

Associate joins design firm

BIRMINGHAM-based interior design practice Monteith Scott has appointed Sean Espinasse as a new associate. Mr Espinasse, 35, is a brand integration specialist and previously worked with companies such as Adidas and Specsavers whiles at Nottingham-based Paragon Interiors Group. He spent his first day with the Jewellery Quarter-based company on a flight to Taiwan as part of a contract to work on a new office scheme.

Mobile firm prepares for international launch

BIRMINGHAM-based online accessories retailer Mobile Fun is expanding its international operations with the appointments of Vanesa Nunez and Robin Verschuren. The duo will be charged with launching the company’s new mobile phone websites for Spain and The Netherlands. As the new head of Spain, Ms Nunez has experience in ecommerce, mobile communications and retail with companies including Orange. Ms Verschuren will head up the Dutch operations after starting her career with Dutch think-tank Nexus Institute.
