New iPad product signals busy period for JSJS

BIRMINGHAM-based home automation systems firm JSJS Designs has delivered £20,000 worth of equipment to a home intruder alarm specialist as part of a busy few months for the firm.

In a trading update following its half-year results announced in June, the plc said Surrey-based Response Electronics had taken delivery of its first stocking order of £20,000 to service its online sales operation.

It intended to market the full JSJS product range to its 200,000 strong database of existing customers as well as to the general public through its website, JSJS said today.

The plc, based at Birmingham Science Park Aston, specialises in the design, development and manufacture of systems enabling consumers to operate remotely household appliances.

In a separate development, Warrington-based MCC Group, a reseller of Apple electronic products, has installed point of sale displays into its first two stores in Chester and Stoke.

The statement added: “The board is also pleased to note that web sales through the company’s website, whilst comparatively small, show significant take-up reflecting a growing level of interest in JSJS products in what is a busy marketplace.

“The company has recently launched an iPad-based lighting solution which can enable the user to remotely operate and control lighting from their iPad 1 or 2 devices.

“As highlighted in June this year, there is a funding requirement to facilitate further product development and the working capital requirements associated with the increase in commercial activity.”

Chief executive John Shermer added: “The board and its advisers continue to work towards finding a suitable resolution to the company’s current funding requirement and a statement will be made once this has been secured”.
