New brace at Barques

BIRMINGHAM PR agency Barques has boosted its team with two new appointments. The Jewellery Quarter agency was launched last year by directors Paul Skipp and Jilly Cosgrove and works alongside sister company Barques Design. It has signed up Laura Butler as senior account executive from Leamington Spa-based agency Summersault to help manage the company’s client base. Since graduating from Wolverhampton University, she has worked with clients including Empire Cinemas, New Look and NFU Mutual.
Former magazine editor Lucy Willcock also joins the firm as head of client services. She has almost a decade of experience in the communications industry, across agency and in-house roles, advising clients such as Severn Trent Water, Wilkinson and the Welsh Assembly Government. Mr Skipp said: “Laura and Lucy bring a wealth of writing and client-facing experience to the team at Barques PR. We’re still a very young company but we are ambitious and these appointments demonstrate our intention to continuously grow and improve.”

Trio expands payroll at HROC

ADVERTISING and PR agency HROC Group has strengthened its team with a trio of new recruits. Charlotte Banks joins the Edgbaston-based outfit’s digital team, Chris Marshall is a new member of its creative services team while Lee Hall joins the PR department. The agency now employs 40 staff and has recently moved to new offices in Edgbaston.

Quiss grows technical teams

TAMWORTH-based IT outsourcing specialist Quiss Technology has recruited David Pagett as its new technical manager. Mr Pagett joins the company from Craegmoor Healthcare where he oversaw the delivery of technical support to 250 care homes, colleges and hospitals. Ximena Wilson joins Quiss as a helpdesk analyst while Paul Tozer is the firm’s new senior network specialist, having spent the past 15 years in IT engineering.
