Property investment firm founder dies

THE founder of a West Midlands property investment company has died aged 63.

Peter Lewin launched Real Estate Investors in 2004 and listed it on the AIM that same year.

He was chief executive until 2007 when he became chairman, a role he held until last year, before becoming a non-executive director up to his retirement at the start of 2011.

Paul Bassi, chief executive of Birmingham-based REI, said: “On behalf of the board and everyone at Real Estate Investors, I would like to extend our condolences to Peter’s wife, Michelle and to their family.

“Peter was unstinting in his commitment to the company and his wise counsel was always of the highest standard. He will be missed.”
