Warwick hotel sold out of administration saving 30 jobs

A WARWICKSHIRE hotel has been sold out of administration in an undisclosed deal which has safeguarded the jobs of 30 people.

Joint administrators David Bennett and Joe McLean, of Grant Thornton UK, secured the sale of the Ramada Warwick Hotel and Conference Centre at Kenilworth from the Fortmere Group to Wise Hotel Ltd.

Ramada Warwick is one of three West Midlands-based hotels within the Fortmere Group, which went into administration in May 2011. On November 18, sister hotel Ramada Park Hall in Wolverhampton was sold, preserving over 100 jobs.

The Ramada Birmingham Oldbury Hotel is now the only hotel that remains unsold.

Mr Bennett said: “The administrators have traded the Ramada Warwick since May and we are very pleased to now sell the hotel, particularly in what are still challenging times for many sectors of the economy.”

Ravi Johal, director at Wise Hotel, said: “We are very pleased to be expanding our hotel footprint in the Midlands and look to make improvements to the Ramada Warwick Hotel immediately. We aim to enhance the hotel’s trading in both business and tourist markets and look forward to working with the very experienced team already in place.”

Wise Hotel also owns the Days Hotel Coventry City.
