Game point for Kershaw with tennis club deal

STOURBRIDGE-based Kershaw Mechanical Services has won a £700,000 contract to install full mechanical services at the new Edgbaston International Tennis Centre.

The facility, part of the wider regeneration of Edgbaston Priory tennis and squash club in Birmingham, replaces an existing building.

It will comprise a six-court indoor tennis centre, changing rooms, physiotherapy room, training room, viewing gallery, reception area and offices.

An information technology and communications suite will also be incorporated into the new centre to enhance its TV broadcasting activities.

The mechanical work involves a standalone complex, with plant room, providing heating, gas and hot and cold water.

Main contractor on the scheme is Rugby-based Morgan Sindall and the whole project is due for completion in spring 2013.
