Playboy gives Jaguar Land Rover a red-blooded boost

MEN’S magazine and international style icon Playboy has given Jaguar a red-blooded boost by naming its high performance XKR-S as its hottest car of the year.

In a double-whammy for JLR, the magazine has also named the new Range Rover Evoque in its Top 10 of the hottest new models.

However, despite the strong showing, parent company Tata Motors is snubbing the US car buying public by turning its back on next month’s Detroit Motor Show in favour of the domestic Auto Expo event in Delhi.

The move is one of the clearest indications yet that the firm sees greater growth potential in its own back yard and China, rather than the more established US market.

The Auto Expo event is the biggest motor show of its kind in India and is a significant indication of the shift in the global automotive sector.

Several manufacturers will use the show to launch new models while most of the major car and commercial vehicle makers will be present.

Playboy’s complete hot list:

Lamborghini Aventador
Fiat 500
Range Rover Evoque
Lexus CT 200H
BMW 1 Series M
Bentley Continental GTC
Ford Mustang Boss 302
Audi A7
Mercedes-Benz CLs63 AMG
Hyundai Veloster
Jaguar XKR-S
