Pensions administrators signs up for Fifty4 Hagley Road

BIRMINGHAM office development Fifty4 Hagley Road has signed up pension administration services, Merchant Navy Pensions Administration.

The firm, which employs 20 people, has taken a five-year lease on 5,575 sq ft of space at the Edgbaston building.

Moving from One Hagley Road, MNPA opened its first Birmingham office in 2009, taking over pensions administration services on behalf of Smiths Pensions. However, the firm was keen from the start to move to more modern offices with room for expansion.

Tracy Weller, MNPA’s administration director said the new offices at Fifty4 Hagley Road provided the opportunity for the company to take the business forward and service clients in the Midlands and further North.

She said: “We are currently pursuing a number of prospects and feel confident new clients will like the services and quality of working environment we have to offer.

“We wanted modern, light, open-plan offices which gave us a fresh new appeal.  Moving to Fifty4 Hagley Road has been a real boost for the team and everyone is delighted, both with our space and the communal facilities available, including the coffee shop in reception which is used by both staff and visitors.”

Jon Carmalt, of Jones Lang LaSalle acted as joint agents with GBR Phonenix Beard on the office scheme.

Simon Robinson, of gbrpb,  which brokered the deal, said: “Fifty4 Hagley Road continues to offer extremely competitive terms on some of the best Grade A space available in Edgbaston which is home to well known names in the city including the Tribunal Services, Shoosmiths and Francis Graves.

“On-going investment in the building has maintained interest from occupiers and created a high quality working environment.  Currently £1m is being invested in new windows and a concierge service has been added to provide support on administrative duties and assistance for employees working in the building. “
