Stafford and Coventry offices named best in Midlands

THE British Council for Offices (BCO) has identified the top workplaces in the Midlands with Stafford and Coventry offices beating off competition to scoop the awards.

Staffordshire Place, home to Staffordshire County Council, won the best corporate workplace category, with judges praising its BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating which has drastically reduced the building’s running costs.

Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the BCO, said: “Staffordshire Place is testament to the focus of the region’s commercial property sector on outstanding design and functionality.

“It is a commendable example of a sustainable, cost-effective and modern office place which provides a highly effective workplace for Staffordshire County Council staff.”

The BCO’s Midlands and East Anglia awards ceremony, held at Birmingham Town Hall, was attended by 300 property professionals. It provides public recognition for top quality design and functionality and is intended to set a benchmark for excellence in the office space.

All eyes are now on October 2 when the winners from the regional awards will go on to compete at a national level.
