Aston Martin boosts skills levels with technical centre

LUXURY sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has opened a new Technical Training Academy at its global headquarters in Warwickshire.
Occupying more than 1,400 sqm, the purpose-developed facility at Gaydon provides technical working areas and classrooms equipped with the firm’s latest models, components and tooling for hands-on training.
The centre will conduct product training for technical staff employed at the marque’s production facility along with technical and sales training for Aston Martin’s global dealer network.
Working in conjunction with the Science Engineering and Manufacturing Training Association (SEMTA), Aston Martin will offer employees the opportunity to train for nationally recognised qualifications.
Keith Stanton, Aston Martin’s Manufacturing Operations Director, said: “Aston Martin is dedicated fully to the development of its employees, and the new training academy is a further step in demonstrating our long-term commitment to supporting engineering and manufacturing as an exciting and specialised industry.”
The academy has 10 technical trainers, and capacity to take more than 60 people on each course.
