Firms urged to book their places on China trade trip

FIRMS from Coventry & Warwickshire are heading to China and Hong Kong to seek new business and to strike up trade partnerships.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and UKTI are organising the trip – scheduled to begin on September 16 – and there are still places available.
Grant support for the week-long event is also available subject to eligibility.
The trip begins on September 16 and will take in Beijing, Jinan and Hong Kong. The timing of the mission will allow businesses to attend a major business to business conference to be held in Shandong Province, with the full support of the Shandong government.
One-to-one meetings will be arranged for any delegates who decide to take up the opportunity.
UKTI’s Mark Eaton, of the Chamber’s international trade team, said visiting China is the only way to make headway in the market.
“China and Hong Kong offer very lucrative business opportunities for those companies who take the right approach,” he said.
“It’s not an easy market to tap into but if you take the time and effort, the rewards are there for your business.
“Meeting people face to face is the best way to do business anywhere in the world but in China that is particularly pertinent.
“Over the past 20 years, this Chamber has developed fantastic relationships in China, especially in the Shandong Province and that has led to many, many great business opportunities for companies in our region.
“So for those companies who want to explore where and how they could do business in China and Hong Kong, this is a great starting point.”
