Gold medal performance for Cobbetts on Olympic deal

LAW firm Cobbetts has provided advice on a flagship event during the Olympics celebrations in London.

The firm’s Commercial & IP team, led by partner Frances Anderson, advised The London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT), which organised a series of events in central London to mark the London 2012 Games.

Central to these events on landmark London buildings and the Millennium Bridge were performances by Streb, an extreme dance company based in New York.

The events were funded by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the Greater London Authority, which is headed by the Mayor of London.

Ms Anderson said: “We are really pleased that we have been able to offer our services to LIFT in connection with this unforgettable series of performances, and get involved with something of national and worldwide significance in support of such a well-respected and innovative company.”

LIFT is a biennial international festival taking place every other summer in theatres, arts venues and sites across London. This year its work forms part of the Cultural Olympiad.
